Siemens Healthineers Expands U.S. Parts Inventory and Logistics Capabilities
On Feb. 18, Siemens Healthineers announced that it is increasing its U.S. parts inventory and logistics capabilities with the opening of depots in Dayton, N.J. and Manteca, Calif. A press release on the announcement said that the organization is “increasing the availability of parts by nearly a third…”
Siemens Healthineers is working with GXO, a contract logistics provider, to lease new warehouse spaces in the two locations.
The press release stated, “Healthcare supply chains have been under pressure since before the pandemic due to increasing global demand for goods and transport. Severe weather and geopolitical uncertainties have added urgency to maintaining a stable supply chain of parts and agile logistical support. In addition to its new mega depots, which will help reduce environmental impact through efficient delivery, Siemens Healthineers also has a network of U.S. forward stocking locations close to its major customers.”
GXO is currently providing warehousing and inventory management to Siemens Healthineers in the state of New Jersey and plans to begin operations in California in early 2025.
