Owens & Minor Announces Updated Capabilities at Two New Facilities
Owens & Minor has announced new capabilities that will be operational at new facilities starting in 2025.
In West Virginia, there is a “new state of the art distribution center with advanced automation and robotics technology to help streamline and expedite inventory management and order fulfillment” which is now open. Also to come in spring 2025 is a “second state of the art distribution center in South Dakota that will integrate the latest augmented reality (AP) system for supporting the order picking process.”
These advancements will bolster the “medical distribution capabilities of [Owens & Minor]’s Products & Healthcare Services (P&HS) business segment, which provides essential products and services to thousands of healthcare customers.”
Andy Long, the CEO of the Products & Healthcare Services segment of Owens & Minor, said that these changes are the result of two years of work from the P&HS team to “identify areas where technology investments, operational upgrades, and new approaches to how [they] do business could have a meaningful impact for [their] customers.”
