Key healthcare organizations express concern to U.S. Trade Representative about tariffs on medical and dental supplies, warning of potential disruptions to supply chains and increased costs.

Key healthcare organizations sent a letter dated April 1 to Ambassador Jameison Greer of the U.S. Trade Representative.

The letter expresses concern about tariffs on medical and dental supplies, equipment, and devices, emphasizing their critical role in delivering timely care. The organizations warn that these tariffs could disrupt supply chains, raise costs, and negatively impact access to necessary healthcare. They urge the exemption of these items from tariffs to prevent further financial strain on healthcare providers, especially in rural and underserved areas, and to maintain patient access to essential products.

The organizations include American Dental Association (ADA), AdvaMed, American Association for Homecare, America's Essential Hospitals, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Health Industry Distributors Association, Conquering CHD, Preeclampsia Foundation, Prevent Cancer, and Sepsis Alliance.
