CME, Premier Inc. reach agreement for providing direct-to-site logistics services
In a move designed to enhance efficiencies in the assembly and installation of healthcare equipment at thousands of facilities nationwide, CME Corp (CME) announced it is adding logistics services to the existing PP-DS-084 Medical/Surgical Distribution Agreement with Premier Inc., allowing Premier members, at their discretion, to take advantage of special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier.
A sister of The Clafin Company, which has had a long-standing relationship with Premier for Medical/Surgical Distribution, CME is a comprehensive healthcare equipment provider and logistics specialist. The newly expanded agreement is poised to add value for facilities that are newly constructed or expanded, particularly in suburban markets.
The turn-key approach perfected by CME – covering the initial equipment purchase, tracking of the items, receiving, warehousing, staging, assembly and delivery direct to the room – has been proven to save time for facilities that are under construction and need equipment. Studies show a delay in opening can cost hospitals up to $450,000 per day and healthcare clinics up to $120,000 per day.
“Time is money for healthcare facilities, and when it comes to getting the proper equipment installed, the logistics have to be executed in the most efficient way possible,” said Tim Farinholt, Director, National Accounts for CME. “With our vast experience in outfitting hospitals from remote islands in Alaska to the towers of New York City, CME is a trusted resource for healthcare facilities tackling the most complex logistical challenges.”
In addition to speed, CME offers an advanced level of control and collaboration through its proprietary CME 360 software while securing compliance and performance that follows the terms and conditions of each project.
