The Strategic Marketplace Initiative (SMI) announced eight members celebrating 10 years of membership, including Abbott, Concordance Healthcare Solutions, Cook Medical, Kaiser Permanente, Lifespan, Sanford Health, Tecsys, and W.L. Gore & Associates.
These eight organizations are representative of the providers, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and technology companies that comprise SMI’s 130 members. Whether manufacturing medical devices, distributing critical products and supplies to hospitals, improving supply chain operations, or delivering patient care, these companies all play an essential role in keeping the nation’s healthcare supply chain moving.
Jane Pleasants, Vice President of Supply Chain at Duke Health and current SMI Board chair said, “SMI is honored to have these distinguished organizations as part of our mission to unite thought leader executives focusing on education, leading best practice sharing and transformative improvements to help serve patients and clinicians.”
Mary Beth Lang, Vice President and Chief Supply Chain & Procurement at Kaiser Permanente and new SMI Board member said, “SMI is a small, agile organization where members truly feel part of a tight-knit community working together to strengthen the supply chain and ultimately improve the delivery of care for patients. Kaiser Permanente is thankful to be a member of SMI for these past ten years.”
Peter Brereton, President & CEO of Tecsys said, “I’ve been a long-time member of SMI, and they have managed to stay balanced and relevant through many changes and challenges in healthcare. SMI is the best place to learn and network with the most influential people in the healthcare supply chain industry.”
