This year’s lecture speaker is Richard Carmona, M.D., MPH, Former Surgeon General of the U.S., and his topic is Beyond Politics and Bad Behavior: How Evidence and Engagement Can Improve Health and Healthcare in America.
The event will be held on March 14, 2019, at ASU and at no cost to attendees.
Richard Carmona, MD, draws upon his experience and expertise as the nation’s top doctor and his work as a university professor, nurse, police officer and a decorated Army Special Forces war veteran to diagnose what ails Americans and our healthcare system. He prescribes a path forward that aligns stakeholders across the healthcare system and rewards behaviors that promote the health of individuals, communities and the economic vitality of the country.
His presentation will focus first on preventable disease and economic burden and the use of evidence to improve health and care as well as how to motivate individuals to engage in healthier life styles.
