Leapfrog received around 800 public comments and revised this year's survey in accordance with them and a pilot test at a select few hospitals.

The Leapfrog Group has released the changes it is making to its 2025 Leapfrog Hospital Survey.

Every year, the Leapfrog Group “convenes expert panels to ensure the Leapfrog Hospital Survey aligns with the latest science and the public reporting needs of purchasers and consumers.” The results are then released for public comment, and the comments received are “reviewed by Leapfrog’s research team and used to refine the Survey before it is finalized.”

This year, Leapfrog received over 800 public comments in response to its proposed changes. They released a report summarizing those comments and results from an initial pilot test.

The finalized changes for the 2025 Leapfrog Hospital Survey include “updated reporting policy following cybersecurity events and natural disasters;” “updated questions for Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA);” “removal of procedure codes for Hospital and Surgeon Volume;” “updated specifications for Maternity Care Process Measures of Quality;” “new Pediatric ICU Physician Staffing subsection;” “updated questions for Hospital Boarding in the Emergency Department (ED);” and “addition of CPT procedure codes for Volume of Procedures.”
