On Jan. 21, the American Hospital Association posted a letter from Baxter following up on its communication on December 13, 2024, regarding increases in allocations for several U.S. IV products.
The letter said, “…we are pleased to inform you that allocations on two product codes listed in Table 2 are increasing to 100% effective January 21, 2025. These two codes are 2B7127, 0.9% Sodium Chloride Irrigation USP, 3000mL, and 2B1064X, 5% Dextrose + 0.9% Sodium Chloride, 1000mL. Allocation increases are consistent for Baxter’s direct customers and distribution partners.”
Further, “Please note that there is a typical 1 to 2-week lag time for product to flow through the full distribution network after allocation changes are implemented.”
The letter also notes that if a facility is a designated children’s hospital or has received an approval through the pediatric allocation exception process, its allocation levels will not change.
Additionally, allocation levels for 0.9% Sodium Chloride at 100% for Renal customers will not change.
