SafeSource Direct Receives NIOSH Approval for Surgical N95 Respirators

With a workforce of 560, the company anticipates producing over 18 million masks this year, catering to both medical and commercial needs.

SafeSource Direct has received approval from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for its surgical N95 respirators. Their website has the release.

SafeSource Direct is a manufacturer of personal protective equipment based in Broussard, Louisiana. Paul Booth, their vice president, says that these respirators are used in both surgical settings and in “commercial settings for dust [and] glass.” The company started during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company employs 560 people in the Acadiana region of Louisiana, and the company “expects to manufacture more than 18 million masks this year, in addition to other forms of PPE.”
