AHRMM24 Message from the Executive Director

Aug. 15, 2024

We are just a few weeks away from AHRMM24, our annual conference that convenes supply chain professionals, health care leaders and suppliers/solution providers from across the field.

Our reimagining AHRMM program extends to reimagining our annual conference where we will build upon theme of Transformational Excellence, our commitment to pursue excellence in all that we do for you, as the association dedicated to the health care supply chain field.  This includes our first ever Community “Give Back” Project that stems from our collaboration with the Greater Ohio Chapter of AHRMM and sponsor Henry Schein Cares. Conference attendees are invited to lend a helping hand by assembling snack packs and welcome kits for families staying at the Columbus Ronald McDonald House.

Leadership will be one of our key themes at AHRMM24.  Some examples include our first ever CQO Learning Lab Workshop that will be open to all conference attendees.  This session will be facilitated by Brian and Melanie Jones from the Table Group (founded by Patrick Lencioni) and will focus on leadership training and team building skills.

Our Federal Sector Transformational Leadership session which will bring together both civilian and military senior leaders who will share how they have navigated transformational leadership in health care systems.

Tuesday’s General Session, Talent Triumph: Overcoming Workforce Challenges in the Health Care Supply Chain will explore emerging trends in talent development where attendees will gain valuable insights into the evolving competencies required for both subject matter experts and leadership roles.

As always, you can expect leading edge education from our line-up of outstanding speakers, and actionable solutions from our valued exhibitors.  Be sure to attend Monday’s General Session where we will celebrate AHRMM’s history and take a look ahead regarding innovative curriculum programming and projects the field can expect from AHRMM.

While we are well underway in our Reimagining AHRMM (RA) 1.0 campaign, Advisory Board members and I are actively identifying RA 2.0 initiatives as we look to 2025 and new ways to work, collaborate and elevate the supply chain professionals who lead our health care supply chains.  As a recap, there are six key initiatives we are focusing on this year:

  • A renewed focus on the development of educational content that meets the field’s needs where they are now and their envisioned career pathways.
  • Intentional alignment with our Affiliated Chapters.
  • Understanding and thoughtfully advancing AI adoption across the health care supply chain.
  • Purposeful engagement with health care and supply chain executive leadership.
  • Expanding relationships and collaboration with our Federal Sector Partners.
  • Identifying educational content and delivering that content across multiple channels and modalities that allows AHRMM to meet the varied learning styles of today’s professionals.

The culmination of this activity is the engagement of our Advisory Board and staff in this process – we have established an embedded, longitudinal approach to ensuring execution of these strategies.

I invite you to register for AHRMM24. I look forward to seeing you in Columbus!
