AHRMM announces new surge supply and cost reduction strategies workgroups
The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) announced the launch of the first two AHRMM Healthcare Learning Community (HCLC) work groups.
They continued:
Please consider joining one or both groups aimed at creating a more connected, resilient and efficient healthcare supply chain. By speaking with a unified voice across the healthcare continuum, we intend to increase acceptance and adoption from the broader stakeholders groups, their members and affiliates.
Each will seek to bring together a representative group of healthcare providers, clinicians, manufacturers, distributors, finance professionals and other interested parties to create a shared understanding of the current situation and develop a set of recommended practices for each stakeholder group that will move healthcare forward.
The Integrated Surge Supply Strategies Work Group will explore various ideas and solutions to increase the resiliency and flexibility of the healthcare supply chain, including the pros and cons of individual versus regional surge inventories, production capacity strategies that allow surge demand for pandemic-related products to be met, and building increased supply flexibility across the entire supply chain continuum from the point of manufacture to the point of use.
The Enterprise-Wide Cost Reduction Strategies Beyond Product Pricing Work Group will explore ideas that help establish enterprise-wide expense management strategies in an effort to deliver savings and efficiencies to offset expected increases in supply costs.
Kick-off calls for each initiative will subsequently be scheduled where we will refine the project scope and timeline.
