Labcorp Completes Acquisition of North Mississippi Health Services' Ambulatory Outreach Lab Business

April 21, 2025
All of North Mississippi Health Services' patients and providers will now have access to Labcorp's clinical laboratory services, data, and digital tools.

Labcorp has announced that it has completed its acquisition of North Mississippi Health Services’ “ambulatory outreach laboratory business and become a referral laboratory for its seven hospitals and clinic laboratories.”

This acquisition grants all of North Mississippi Health Services’ (NMHS) patients and providers with Labcorp’s clinical laboratory services, data, and digital tools. Labcrop will also “open three new patient service centers in Tupelo, West Point, and Amory by mid-year to increase availability of laboratory services in North Mississippi.”

Shane Spees, the president and CEO of NMHS, says that the acquisition will hopefully help them “address key pieces of [their] strategy including improving access, evolving how [they] ‘do the work,’ and creating alternative revenue services.”

The organizations have been working together to this point to “implement a smooth transition focused on maintaining continuity of services for patients, hospitals, physicians, and clients, while providing direct access to the additional capabilities of Labcorp.”
