From emerging pathogen types such as SARS-CoV-2 and C. auris to well-known and difficult-to-kill viruses like C. difficile, healthcare facilities have been challenged to evaluate the efficacy of their whole room disinfection methods.
When it comes to whole room disinfection, both the disinfectant and delivery method are critical. In this session, Halosil will evaluate the pitfalls of common disinfection application methods such as spray-and-wipe, electrostatic sprayers, and UV light, and why dry fog is the most effective and flexible option. In addition, Halosil will provide insight on selecting an EPA-registered disinfectant with a 6-log kill claim against some of the most challenging to kill pathogens. Debra Runyan, former Director of Infection Prevention at Pennsylvania Hospital, will provide insight on her experience creating strategies to combat the spread of C. difficile in the Penn Medicine health system.
