Once again this 4th of July, Carl Meyer, Executive Vice President, The Wetrich Group and Hire Heroes USA - Volunteer, will be attempting to play 100 Holes for Our Heroes benefiting Hire Heroes USA for the 14th year in a row, actually targeting 114 holes.
This effort has always had two main goals:
The first was to raise awareness of the amazing work that Hire Heroes USA does for veterans. Hire Heroes USA is the recognized leading charity providing veteran employment transition services. They have consistently received the highest possible ratings from Charity Navigator (4 Stars) and GuideStar (Platinum) for how they run the charity (lean and productive). Last year, during a pandemic, Hire Heroes USA helped 11,580 veterans gain employment, at an average starting salary of over $60,900. The cost per placement has fallen from $7,000 15 years ago to under $1,000 now. The economic impact for the over 52,000 veterans placed is conservatively estimated to exceed $2.0 Billion annually.
The second goal was to raise money to help place more veterans. Last year’s total came in at $122,000 bringing the 13-year total to $985,000. They passed the $1 million cumulative mark a few months ago and have raised over $100,000 for this year’s event as of this writing.
