GHX honors healthcare leaders at 19th Annual GHXcellence Awards

May 1, 2019

Global Healthcare Exchange, LLC (GHX) on April 30 announced the recipients of its annual GHXcellence Awards during the 2019 GHX Summit in San Antonio, TX. Award winners include provider and supplier organizations that are using healthcare technology and current best practices to transform healthcare into a better experience for patients while cutting back on waste and unnecessary spending.

GHX said in the announcement that winners must demonstrate successful performance metrics from automating its business processes and explain how they strategically implemented GHX solutions to make meaningful improvements.

Also, Greg Bylo, a well-respected and admired supply chain veteran, who passed away last year, was honored in memoriam with the company’s Supply Chain
Leadership award. Bylo was the senior director of global supply chain support services at Integra Life Sciences where he was responsible for supply chain planning of global products. He also spent more than 15 years at Becton Dickinson leading sales and operations planning and supply chain planning teams. More recently he was vice president, GS1 Healthcare US.

“Greg was well known by many in the industry who, no doubt, share my deep sense of loss, not only for a friend but also a true champion of the value of standards in healthcare,” wrote Karen Conway, Vice President, Healthcare Value at GHX, monthly columnist and editorial advisory board member for HPN. "Greg is perhaps best remembered for his gentle leadership style and someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand, to create a teachable moment, and to express appreciation for his own mentors.”

Commenting on this year’s winners, Bruce Johnson, president and CEO, GHX, stated: “During the last decade, the healthcare industry has made tremendous progress using technology and data to modernize aging business processes and practices. The next step will be to unite the best in the industry in a singular effort to achieve cost savings and improve patient outcomes. This year’s GHXcellence Award winners represent the most innovative leaders and organizations in the industry, facing new challenges as an opportunity to shape the future business of healthcare.”
