Interface expands Carbon Neutral Floors Program to include nora rubber flooring products

Feb. 25, 2019

Global commercial flooring company, Interface, has announced that nora rubber flooring is now included in its Carbon Neutral Floors program. Interface’s entire product portfolio – carpet tile, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), and now nora rubber flooring – is carbon neutral across its product lifecycle.

“To reach carbon neutrality, we calculate the remaining greenhouse gas emissions for the entire lifecycle of our products and invest in verified emission reduction projects located all over the world to offset these emissions,” said Erin Meezan, chief sustainability officer, Interface.

In June 2018, Interface says it was the first global flooring manufacturer to declare that all of its products – including carpet tile and LVT – are carbon neutral across the entire product lifecycle. Offered as standard to every customer, at no extra cost, the program helps them meet their own sustainability goals while also allowing them to reduce the emissions impact of their projects or spaces. Interface has taken a holistic approach to carbon neutrality, looking beyond carbon emissions from manufacturing to considering and calculating emissions across the entire product lifecycle.
