Intalere announced Intermountain Healthcare recently began utilizing the OptiMIM Advantage solution, which provides a trusted data source to improve efficiency and patient safety while reducing financial, regulatory and product risk, states an Intalere press release.

“In addition to serving as a single source of data truth, OptiMIM Advantage enables the supply chain to more efficiently leverage data to perform analytics of supply items to reduce supply costs, increase procure-to-pay (P2P) efficiencies, streamline system integrations for mergers and acquisitions, and improve accuracy on point-of-use capture,” said Shon Wettstein, SVP Business Development for Intalere.

OptiMIM Advantage consolidates data from suppliers and other sources such as the Global Unique Device Identification Database (GUDID) and Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). It then houses the cleansed and validated data on a single platform.

Beyond an item master with clean and normalized data and overall accuracy of supply-related data through interoperability, further benefits of OptiMIM implementation include:

•          Improved margins, increased charge capture, actionable reporting and billing.

•          Cost effective operation vs. current EHR implementation.

•          Operating room billing automation and accuracy.

•          Robust product attribution that drives analytics in utilization management and value analysis.

Intermountain specifically is utilizing the solution for the normalization and enrichment of data for all ad hoc item adds and new and existing contracts, as well as developing rules-based clinical descriptions by specialty beginning in cardiology.

Wettstein explained that the solution’s ability to offer real-time repair and automated synchronization of a hospital’s core foundational systems so that critical data can be turned into actionable information has continued to gain traction in the market. In addition to Intermountain Healthcare, an academic medical center in the New England region and a leading cancer center in the New York region recently signed on to implement OptiMIM Advantage.
